DANIEL MOORE TO UNVEIL "MAXIMUM BLOCK"
AT THE ALABAMA SPORTS HALL OF FAME MUSEUM

BIRMINGHAM - Famed sports artist Daniel Moore will be unveiling his latest oil painting, Maximum Block, at the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame Museum this Monday, February 15th. This official unveiling and other exciting activities are scheduled from 5:00-7:00 p.m. The event is open to the public and admission is free.

Mr. Moore's unveiling of Maximum Block heralds the kickoff of The Greatest Season Ever, a series of five paintings by the artist that will commemorate Alabama's 2009 National Championship Season. In celebration of this landmark event, the artist is giving each guest in attendance a FREE 8" x 10" advance-issue print of Maximum Block, personalized by the artist.

Along with the unveiling of Maximum Block, there will be an official presentation and hanging of Mr. Moore's famous oil painting, The Tradition Continues, which he is donating to the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame Museum's permanent collection. The popular work, appraised at $239,000, depicts Coach Gene Stallings and Alabama's 1992 National Championship. This event will mark the first time the work will be on display at the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame.

Other featured guests on hand to sign autographs will be Todd Bates and Murray Legg. Todd Bates was a standout defensive end for Alabama and was named as one of the 2004 permanent team captains. In 2005, Todd was signed by the Tennessee Titans. Todd's gift of motivational poetry writing has been combined with Daniel Moore's artistry as the two have worked together to produce 3 "Print/Poems." These handsomely framed combination works of The Goal Line Stand, The Blackout and The Blowout will also be available for sale and signing by both artists.

Murray Legg played for the legendary Coach Paul W. Bryant and was a member of the 1978 National Championship Team. He was a key player in ‘Bama's 1979 Sugar Bowl and was instrumental in helping "create" the famous goal line stand against Penn State to preserve the Tide's win and the 1978 National Championship. Murray will be on hand to personalize the print/poem, 8" x 10" prints and a free miniature print in the event program of Daniel Moore's artwork, "The Goal Line Stand."

Additional 8 x 10 prints of Maximum Block will be available for $30 each at the museum's gift shop. Other Daniel Moore items will be available for purchase including his Iron Bowl Gold and Crimson & White and Other Colors books. Also available will be the 2010 Daniel A. Moore Fine Art Collector's Calendars at the special price of only $10 each. Mr. Moore will be on hand throughout the event to sign the free prints of Maximum Block and any other items that are purchased that evening.

Monday is also the last day to order the Maximum Block limited edition fine art prints. The prints, produced from the original masterwork being unveiled, will be released soon. New Life Art personnel will be on hand at the reception to take last-minute orders for the prints. An advance-copy "Printer's Proof" print of Maximum Block will be on display. This beautifully framed print will be auctioned by way of a silent auction that will run during the event. At 6:30 p.m., the winning bidder will be announced and the print may be taken home that night. Since 100% of the bid price will go to benefit the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame, the purchase will be partly deductible. This will be the very first print released in the edition and the first print released in the The Greatest Season Ever series. Being a unique collector's item as the first issued, there will be a special designation by the artist on the print and its certificate of authenticity.

For more information on the reception Monday night, as well as, driving directions call the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame Museum at 205-323-6665.
